We have shrink tubing for you!
KACAB was thus founded in 1993 and we have specialized in the sale of heat shrink tubing. Today we are one of Sweden’s most complete companies in the industry. We also offer the market’s widest and best product range of shrink tubing, molded goods, protective tubing and cable ties.
Through close cooperation with our suppliers, our product development is also constantly adapted to the wishes of the industry. And with the help of the latest technology from our suppliers in the planning and production stage, the time to adapt our products to a ready-to-assemble item is therefore minimized.
How does shrink tubing work?
Because KACAB’s heat shrink tubing is available in a wide variety of materials that are developed to operate in temperatures between -75°C and +260°C in constant working temperature. The tubing can be thin-, medium- or thick-walled and are delivered with or without a glued inside. All standard heat shrink tubes are therefore flame retardant and or self-extinguishing. They have a shrinkage capacity from 2: 1 and up to 6: 1 and can be delivered in a variety of colors and sizes (0.6 mm – 1500 mm). Our tubing vary, for example, from economic, to high-tech, and are approved according to UL224/CSA and specified with a variety of MIL standards. Product quality is our key word. All our products also meet or certainly exceed all approvals/environmental requirements such as RoHS, and where applicable, UL, Mil, ASTM, VDE and Cenelec HD623 (for “LV joints kits”).
What is Heat Shrink Tubing?
Heat shrink tubing is thus a special type of plastic tube whose diameter shrinks when heated. The shrink tube is also used to insulate wires and protect them from abrasion. The application of heat is done at the same time with a hot air gun that you can buy from us. There is shrink tubing with or without glue, where the glue not only attaches to cable sheaths and conductors but also seals extra. Heat shrinkable hoses are comparatively divided into shrink ratio, hence that is how much the hose’s diameter can maximally shrink when heat is applied. The most common ratios are between 2:1 to 6:1. furthermore, the greater the shrink ratio a heat shrink tube has, the larger the uneven application it can be shaped around. The wall thickness and diameter change especially when shrinking a shrink tube.
